  5. manual.  Please read all the sections before you proceed with

  16. 1. SYSTEM FILES

  18.    1.1 CONFIG.SYS

  20.        During installation, you have the options to include the DOS
  21.        drivers.
  22.  
  23.        If you install them then the following lines will be added to
  24.        your CONFIG.SYS file.
  25.  
  26.           DEVICE=C:\SB16\DRV\CTSB16.SYS /UNIT=0 /BLASTER=A:220 I:5 D:1 H:5
  27.           DEVICE=C:\SB16\DRV\CTMMSYS.SYS

  29.        where :

  31.        BLASTER=A:220 I:5 D:1 H:5 indicates the hardware resources used
  32.        by your audio card.
  33.  
  34.        The CTSB16.SYS driver has been improved to support different
  35.        models of audio cards.  The BLASTER switch will not have any
  36.        effect if you are using a Plug and Play audio card.  For such
  37.        cards, the hardware resources will be allocated by the Intel
  38.        Configuration Manager.  In this case, Intel Configuration Manager
  39.        has to be loaded before your DOS audio drivers.

  42.    1.2 AUTOEXEC.BAT

  44.        The installation program adds the following statements to the
  45.        AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

  47.           SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6
  48.           SET SOUND=C:\SB16
  49.           SET MIDI=SYNTH:1 MAP:E
  50.           C:\SB16\DIAGNOSE /S /W=C:\WINDOWS
  51.           C:\SB16\MIXERSET /P /Q

  53.        This BLASTER line will not have any effect if you are using a
  54.        Plug and Play audio card for the same reason as above.

  59.    To help you access information on the applications in this package
  60.    easily, we have compiled the online documentation so that it can be
  61.    accessed from your audio card's group window. Just click on the
  62.    icon(s) with names that start with the words "How to Use".
